This opportunity is for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, devoted to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse communication needs. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Utilize a variety of communication methods including sign language, auditory training, and speech therapy techniques.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success and accessibility.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Facilitate the use of assistive technologies and hearing devices in the classroom.
• Conduct assessments to identify students strengths and areas needing support.
• Provide strategies and training for peers and teachers to cultivate an inclusive classroom culture.

Required Qualifications:

• Certification or licensure in teaching Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
• Experience working with K-12 students with hearing disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods.
• Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for advocating for students with special needs.
