Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing near the Lynn, MA area. This part-time contract opportunity extends from ASAP through March 2026, with the possibility of a contract extension following a review. The role offers flexible hoursideally 10-15 per weekallowing you to tailor your schedule and caseload in collaboration with district needs and personal preference.
In this position, youll be working with a district where the current Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearings caseload has grown, creating this supportive, collaborative opportunity. Youll have the chance to speak directly with district leaders regarding your ideal caseload, age group, or school assignments, and help provide essential services to students across the district in a cooperative environment.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Massachusetts teaching certificate as Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in educational settings preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for students with hearing loss
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to individual student needs
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team effort
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with fellow educators and the districts full-time TOD to optimize student support
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Provide expertise and advocacy to staff and family members
- Adapt learning materials as needed based on student needs
- Maintain accurate records and regular communication
