Key Qualifications:

• State certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience designing and implementing individualized instructional plans
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, staff, and families
• Proficiency in using assistive listening devices and adapting materials for students with hearing loss
• Ability to assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
• Knowledge of current practices in inclusive education

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
• Adapt curriculum materials and modify teaching techniques based on student needs
• Consult with general education teachers and support staff to ensure accessibility
• Work closely with families to foster a supportive learning environment
• Advocate for students needs and monitor progress toward IEP goals
• Contribute to IEP meetings and maintain thorough documentation
