Job Description

Enrich the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a supportive, dynamic school environment. This part-time contract opportunity offers the chance to work closely with a diverse group of students, ranging from PreK through age 22. Youll primarily provide consultative serviceswith some direct instructionserving a caseload of 43 students over three days each week.

Your expertise will be vital in helping students access the curriculum, supporting teachers and staff, and advocating for the unique needs of the deaf and hard of hearing community. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, youll ensure educational accommodations and modifications are in place for student success.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts TDHH credential is required
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
  • Strong communication, organization, and consultative skills
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Confidence in supporting a variety of grade levels (PreK22)
  • Familiarity with current assistive technologies and techniques used in DHH education is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with teachers and staff to provide strategies and support for students
  • Deliver direct instruction as required by IEPs
  • Monitor student progress and document services provided
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the classroom
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families and caregivers
