A specialized teaching opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in Los Angeles, CA. This contract position focuses on providing high-quality education and support to students with hearing impairments within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with hearing loss.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and communication techniques to meet the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing learners.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to support students' academic and social development.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Provide advocacy and resources to help students fully access the curriculum.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents and school staff.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with students who have varying degrees of hearing loss.
- Strong knowledge of audiological and assistive technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with educational laws and regulations related to special education and disability services.
