Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. In this contract position, you will work closely with school staff and families to create accessible, engaging classroom experiences for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Your expertise will help empower learners to thrive academically and socially.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credential with specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in a school setting
• Knowledge of assistive listening devices, auditory training techniques, and communication methods such as ASL, cued speech, or total communication
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to adapt lesson materials and strategies to meet individual student needs
• Strong commitment to advocacy and inclusivity

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, both individually and in group settings
• Consult with general education teachers on accommodations and modifications to curriculum
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Support students in developing self-advocacy and communication skills
• Keep thorough records of student progress and communicate regularly with families
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and community outreach when needed
