Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 26/27 school year. This position offers flexibility for both full-time and part-time applicants and involves working with students ranging from kindergarten through high school levels. Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid GA ASL Interpreter credential/certification
  • Experience teaching or supporting deaf and hard of hearing students within a school setting
  • Knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to collaborate on educational goals
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with both students and staff
  • Flexibility to work with students across a wide age and grade range

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customized instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students, adapting materials to meet varying language and communication needs
  • Support students in both general and special education settings, providing resources, adaptations, and advocacy
  • Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere for students, families, and staff
  • Serve as a resource for staff regarding strategies and tools to support accessibility
