Job Description

This position offers the opportunity to support K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a dynamic educational environment. The role is designed for a dedicated professional committed to fostering communication, learning, and inclusion for students with hearing impairments.

Location:

  • Las Vegas, NV

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction tailored to the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students across grades K-12.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including sign language and assistive technologies, to enhance learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to students, families, and educational teams.
  • Promote social and academic development through classroom and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Work Schedule:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Contract duration: Throughout the coming school year (NSY)
