Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education, with a strong foundation in hearing loss, language acquisition, and specialized instruction
- Experience teaching or working with deaf and hard of hearing children in educational settings
- Demonstrated ability to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods commonly used by Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Assess student progress and adapt lessons to accommodate individual learning styles and language levels
- Facilitate communication and inclusion within the classroom and school community
- Consult with general education teachers and support staff to provide strategies for student success
- Maintain accurate documentation related to student progress, IEPs, and assessment data
