A school in Lafayette, TN is seeking a skilled Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students with hearing impairments. This contract position involves delivering specialized instruction and tailored learning experiences to help students achieve their full potential in academic and social environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Utilize appropriate communication methods, including sign language and auditory training, to enhance learning
- Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and families to support students' educational and social development
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Provide training and guidance to school staff on best practices for deaf and hard of hearing education
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with educational regulations
