This rewarding, onsite contract opportunity is available for the upcoming academic year, serving a diverse K-12 caseload and collaborating with dedicated educators who value inclusivity and student success.
Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to provide specialized instruction and advocacy for students with hearing loss, ensuring access to curriculum and resources. Your expertise will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
Key Qualifications:
- Nebraska (NE) DHH teaching license is required
- Experience working with K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations
- Effective collaborative and communication skills with staff, students, and families
- Proven ability to design and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse communication needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across grade levels, adapting teaching strategies as needed
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and objectives
- Advocate for appropriate supports and modifications to maximize student participation and achievement
- Utilize a variety of communication methods and assistive technology to facilitate learning
- Provide consultative support to general education teachers and staff
- Foster a supportive, respectful classroom environment that celebrates diversity
