This full-time contract-to-hire position allows you to bring your passion and expertise to an inclusive academic environment, with caseload details tailored upon placement.
Applicants should be skilled in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing and hold a current LA TDHH license. You will work within a collaborative team of educators and support staff, creating individualized educational plans, fostering language development, and ensuring access to the general curriculum. Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
- Ability to create and adapt lesson plans for individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support for students with hearing loss
- Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods as needed
- Advocate for accessible classroom accommodations and resources
