Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hold an active Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (LA TDHH) License
  • Demonstrated experience or a strong commitment to working in educational settings with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Solid understanding of diverse communication modalities including sign language and assistive technology
  • Collaborative and adaptable approach to working with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, targeted instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Advocate for students access and inclusion within general education settings
  • Monitor and assess student progress, developing and adjusting Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as needed
  • Work closely with families, school staff, and related service providers to ensure a cohesive educational experience
  • Maintain detailed records and comply with all state and federal education guidelines
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship opportunities to continually enhance your skills
