Job Description

This full-time position for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing offers an opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. Located onsite in Kenner, LA, this contract-to-hire role allows you to make a direct impact within the school community while utilizing your expertise to enhance student learning.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license required
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
  • Strong communication and instructional skills tailored to individualized student needs
  • Ability to collaborate with families, educators, and support staff

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational programs and support services to students with hearing loss
  • Assess student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly
  • Manage caseload as assigned, providing direct intervention and consultation to staff and families
  • Utilize assistive technology and strategies to ensure accessibility and engagement
  • Participate in professional development and collaborate with the Clinical Advisory Team for ongoing mentorship
