Job Description
This position seeks an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational support within a school setting in Kelly, WY. This contract role offers the opportunity to work closely with students who have hearing impairments, developing individualized strategies to enhance their learning and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, utilizing appropriate teaching methods and assistive technologies.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families to create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide training and resources to staff and parents regarding communication techniques and accommodations.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to student performance and compliance with educational standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working in educational environments supporting students with hearing loss.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with assistive listening devices and hearing aid technologies.
