Qualifications and Experience:
- State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Solid understanding of auditory/oral, total communication, and sign language methodologies
- Experience working with children with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff and other service providers
- Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Passion for creating inclusive learning environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver specialized instruction tailored to students unique communication needs
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, interpreters, and support staff to facilitate integration
- Provide direct service, consultation, and training for school personnel and families
- Assess student progress, adapting materials and strategies as necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation and play a vital role in IEP meetings
