Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) effectively.
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and families to ensure comprehensive support.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies to enhance learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adapting teaching methods as needed.
- Promote an inclusive environment fostering social and emotional growth.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Certification or licensure for teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies specific to hearing loss and communication modes such as American Sign Language and oral methods.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to student-centered teaching and advocacy.
