Job Description

A specialized teaching contract opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to serve students in a summer program located in Kansas City, KS. This onsite role focuses on providing educational support for K-12 students during the summer months of June and July 2026, with an expected commitment of 17 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Manage a K-12 caseload, adapting teaching strategies to promote effective communication and learning.
  • Collaborate with school staff and support teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Participate in professional development and mentorship programs to enhance instructional techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Kansas teaching license.
  • Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license, demonstrating expertise in educating deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Experience working with the K-12 student population preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
