Job Description

Make a meaningful difference this summer by supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf / Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity, located near Kansas City, focuses on providing exceptional educational services to K-12 students during the June-July 2026 session. Work onsite and collaborate with a dedicated team, delivering specialized instruction over 17 hours per week with a manageable summer caseload.

Qualifications:

  • Active Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
  • Valid Kansas teaching license
  • Prior experience working with K-12 students preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered education

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and academic support to deaf and hard of hearing students across multiple grade levels
  • Adapt curriculum and instruction to meet individual student needs and IEP goals
  • Partner with general education teachers and school staff to ensure accessibility and educational success
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding student progress and available resources
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as needed
