Job Description
Make a direct impact in students' lives by supporting learners who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school-based setting. This contract position is onsite and offers a rewarding opportunity to work one-on-one with a student, providing specialized instruction and advocacy throughout the upcoming academic year.
This role focuses on delivering individualized support tailored to the unique needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, helping them achieve success in the classroom and beyond.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching credential or licensure specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working directly with DHH students in an educational environment
- Strong knowledge of sign language modalities and assistive listening technology
- Ability to develop and adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Collaborative approach to building inclusive school communities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to a DHH student in a 1:1 setting
- Modify curriculum and classroom activities for optimal accessibility
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress in collaboration with teachers and specialists
- Serve as an advocate and resource for the student, school staff, and family
- Facilitate communication and inclusion in all aspects of the school day
- Implement accommodations, assistive technology, and teaching strategies aligned with IEP goals
This contract covers the full academic year, from early August through late May, working onsite for 15 hours weekly. Flexibility to adapt as the caseload evolves may be required.

Compensation for this position ranges from $38.00 to $63.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
