Job Description

An educational opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing support within a K-12 school setting. This contract position spans from the beginning of the current school year through May 29, 2026, and offers both full-time and part-time options. The role is located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, serving students across the K-12 spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement tailored instructional strategies to support students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to deliver inclusive, accessible education.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Utilize technology and resources specific to auditory needs and communication.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with educational standards for students with hearing impairments.

Qualifications:

  • Certification in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing, or a related credential.
  • Experience working in a K-12 educational environment, preferably with a focus on hearing-impaired learners.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).

Location:

  • Position is based in Irving, Texas, with service throughout K-12 schools in the surrounding area.
