Job Description

Exciting opportunities are available for educators with expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction to support K-12 students on a part-time contract basis in the Hubbard Lake, MI area. This position focuses on providing specialized educational services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, utilizing your knowledge and commitment to inclusive learning. The assignment covers the academic year, with tentative dates from August 24, 2026, to June 3, 2027. Both onsite and VOCO (virtual/remote) work options are considered, with onsite participation preferred.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Michigan teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (required). License status can be verified at https://mdoe.state.mi.us/moecs/publiccredentialsearch.aspx.
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a K-12 setting.
  • Proficiency in adapting lesson materials and communication approaches to meet students individual needs.
  • Strong organizational skills and a flexible approach for delivering services both onsite and via VOCO platforms.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Collaborate with other educators, administrators, and families to design and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and adapt interventions to maximize student success.
  • Ensure accessible learning environments and advocate for appropriate resources and accommodations.
  • Participate in school meetings, consultations, and professional development as required.
