Job Description

Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a dynamic school environment in the Chattanooga area! This full-time contract opportunity (35 hours per week) provides an engaging platform to work directly with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, delivering specialized instruction and advocacy. The assignment begins August 5, 2026, and runs through May 19, 2027, with specific caseloads and age groups to be finalized prior to the start date.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active DOE Certification required
  • Fingerprints must be completed for credentialing
  • Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in school settings preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the flexibility to support multiple school sites as needed
  • Commitment to inclusive education and fostering accessible learning environments

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications to ensure access to curriculum and school activities
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technology to meet each students unique needs
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting interventions as required
