Job Description

Seeking a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students in an educational setting in Hilliard, OH. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction and support to children with hearing impairments, helping them achieve academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Utilize assistive listening devices and other technologies to enhance communication and learning
  • Foster inclusive classroom environments and advocate for students unique needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and specialists to monitor and promote student progress
  • Provide direct support and training to classmates and staff on communication strategies

Desired Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure specific to teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Experience with audiological equipment and hearing assistive technology
  • Strong knowledge of language development and communication methods including sign language
  • Ability to adapt instructional techniques to meet varied learning styles and needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with students, families, and educators
  • Demonstrated experience working in a school setting preferred
