Job Description
This full-time position seeks a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support K-12 students within a school located in Hendersonville, TN. The role focuses on providing specialized educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring accessible learning environments and tailored instruction to meet individual needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and other professionals to enhance student success.
- Utilize assistive technology and communication methods appropriate for deaf/hard of hearing learners.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Tennessee teaching license with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement is required.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
