Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, providing essential support and instruction within a dynamic school environment. This contract role runs from August through June 2027, offering continuity and the chance to make a lasting difference in students' educational journeys.

As the dedicated Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will serve one school, delivering direct instruction and adapting curricula to meet the unique needs of your students. Youll actively manage assistive listening devices and work closely with an experienced multidisciplinary teamincluding speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and parentsto develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs). Your contribution will empower students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to reach their fullest academic and communicative potential.

What Youll Need:

  • Valid California Teacher of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) License
  • Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential
  • Proven skills in collaborating with SLPs, audiologists, and families
  • Experience with IEP development and goal implementation
  • Ability to provide direct instruction and modify curriculum as needed
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver instruction for students with deaf and hard of hearing needs
  • Adapt educational materials and strategies for individual access
  • Manage and troubleshoot assistive listening technology
  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent communication
  • Collaborate with other education professionals for a holistic approach
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation related to student services
