Qualifications:
- Valid Louisiana Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (LA TDHH) license
- Previous experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students preferred
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Passion for advocacy and supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various classroom settings
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials to accommodate diverse communication needs, including sign language and assistive technology
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, interpreters, and related service providers
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Partner with families to ensure consistent support for students both at school and home
