Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid state teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods
  • Experience working in school-based settings or with students with hearing differences preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and current best practices in deaf education
  • Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques tailored to each students needs and abilities
  • Consult with general and special education staff to support inclusive classroom environments
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing student assessment
  • Foster a supportive, accessible learning environment with an emphasis on language and literacy development
  • Engage with families to communicate progress and encourage involvement in the educational process
