Desired Qualifications:
- Valid state teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other relevant communication methods
- Experience working in school-based settings or with students with hearing differences preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and current best practices in deaf education
- Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels
- Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques tailored to each students needs and abilities
- Consult with general and special education staff to support inclusive classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to ongoing student assessment
- Foster a supportive, accessible learning environment with an emphasis on language and literacy development
- Engage with families to communicate progress and encourage involvement in the educational process
