Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or eligibility for endorsement
- Proven experience working with students with varying degrees of hearing loss
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
- Proficiency in sign language and familiarity with assistive technology
- Ability to design and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Initiative, flexibility, and dedication to fostering an inclusive school climate
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Adapt curriculum and deliver instruction using a variety of communication modalities
- Coordinate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations are met
- Engage parents and caregivers as partners in their childs education
- Maintain documentation and report on student progress
- Provide input on the selection and effective use of hearing assistive devices and resources
- Participate in relevant professional development and school meetings
