Job Description

Step into a meaningful contract role guiding students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a supportive school setting. This opportunity focuses on providing personalized, one-on-one instruction to students in grades K-12, ensuring their Individualized Education Program (IEP) needs are fully met. The position spans the upcoming academic year, beginning in August and concluding in May, and offers part-time hours for a balanced professional commitmentjust 1 to 1.5 hours per day, Tuesday through Friday.

Essential qualifications and experience:

  • Current certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Educator
  • Experience working directly with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students
  • Proficiency in developing, implementing, and monitoring IEPs
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
  • Strong communication skills and adaptability to meet each learner's individual needs
  • Confidence and comfort in an onsite classroom environment

Role responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational services in a 1:1 setting, fostering student growth and confidence
  • Create instructional plans aligned with IEP objectives and monitor progress with detailed documentation
  • Employ effective strategies and resources to support language, communication, and academic development
  • Partner with school staff and families to ensure continuity of care and services for each student
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all educational standards and regulations
