A school in Great Falls, MT is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to join their educational team on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and assistive technologies to support student learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and other support staff to enhance educational outcomes.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed.
- Provide advocacy and support to students and their families to facilitate communication and access to resources.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and hearing assistive technology preferred.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches to meet diverse learning styles.
