Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with children and adolescents with varying levels of hearing loss
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities
- Ability to assess individual educational needs and develop effective learning plans
- Collaborative spirit to work closely with teachers, families, and support staff
- Effective communication and advocacy skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and adapt curriculum for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Provide direct instruction individually or in small groups according to student IEPs
- Support students access to classroom content using appropriate assistive technology and communication strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, audiologists, and other support personnel
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress evaluations, and family conferences to ensure student success
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student feels supported
