Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across multiple school sites in a vibrant educational setting. This in-person, contract role spans from August 10, 2026, to June 4, 2027, and involves providing dedicated support to a diverse caseload within a collaborative academic community. With a 37.5-hour workweek, you will offer direct instruction and itinerant services, making a direct impact in students educational journeys.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification/license in California is required
- Prior experience supporting students with hearing differences in California schools preferred
- Strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills
- Comfortable working in an itinerant capacity across multiple school sites
- Ability to design, adapt, and implement individualized educational plans for students
- Committed to in-person instructionvirtual/VOCO service is not an option for this assignment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct, individualized and small-group instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Consult with educational staff, families, and service providers to support student learning and inclusion
- Regularly travel between assigned schools to provide itinerant services
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational goal planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports for students on caseload
- Use a variety of communication methods and assistive technology as appropriate for each student
