A full-time Sign Language Interpreter position is available near Palm City, Port Salerno, and Jensen Beach, FL, supporting educational settings focused on Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. This role is ideal for professionals experienced in sign language interpretation within school environments who are looking for a supportive and engaging workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and effective sign language interpretation for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Collaborate closely with Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to enhance communication and learning outcomes
- Support classroom instruction by facilitating real-time interpretation during lessons and school activities
- Adapt interpretation techniques to meet the individual needs of students and staff
- Assist with communication between students, teachers, parents, and other school personnel as needed
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Familiarity with the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work full time with a flexible and professional attitude
