Ideal candidates will possess:

• Current certification or license as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
• Experience working with children and adolescents in an educational setting
• Strong understanding of various communication modalities, including American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, and assistive technologies
• Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students needs
• Excellent collaboration skills for working with general education teachers, specialists, and families
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Organizational abilities to manage caseloads and maintain accurate records

Primary responsibilities include:

• Providing direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across grade levels
• Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to implement accommodations and modifications for student success
• Developing IEPs, monitoring progress, and conducting regular assessments
• Promoting self-advocacy, language development, and social-emotional growth within the classroom and school community
• Consulting with families and caregivers to foster effective partnerships and continuity of care
• Staying current on best practices and advancing professional knowledge in the field of deaf education
