Job Description

Inspire and support students by bringing your expertise as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to a vibrant educational environment. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
  • Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Previous classroom experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students preferred.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instructional techniques and individualized education programs (IEPs).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet each students individualized needs.
  • Provide direct instruction in academic content and life skills using ASL.
  • Collaborate with general education staff and related service providers to ensure a fully accessible and supportive learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with IEP goals and state regulations.
  • Advocate for accessible resources and appropriate accommodations for your students.
