Empower students to thrive by making a difference in the lives of those who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school-based setting. This full-time opportunity, located near Endicott, NY, is for a dedicated and passionate professional looking to support students for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year (exact calendar dates will be determined but expected to run from early September to early June). Youll serve as a vital resource on campus, working directly with students to help them reach their full potential in an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or equivalent credentials
- Prior experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adjust instructional strategies
- Flexibility and a collaborative approach when working with teams, families, and support staff
- Willingness to work onsite and engage with students and colleagues in person
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to students individual needs
- Participate in assessment and progress monitoring for student growth
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop supportive educational plans
- Advocate for students and ensure access to necessary accommodations and resources
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation as required by the school or district
