Job Description

Make a lasting impact as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, supporting K-12 learners across a diverse caseload in a collaborative educational environment. This onsite role begins August 13, 2026 and continues through May 27, 2027, providing the opportunity to guide and empower students with hearing differences throughout the school year.

As a vital member of the team, youll adapt curriculum, implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and foster communication skills tailored to each students needs. The position offers a consistent weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to build meaningful rapport with your students and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Nebraska DHH teaching license (required)
  • Experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with educators, students, and families
  • Familiarity with individualized instruction and accommodations
  • Ability to assess and monitor student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Dedication to creating an inclusive, accessible learning environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students across grade levels K-12
  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with students IEPs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
  • Advocate for student needs and promote access to educational resources
  • Track and document student progress, participation, and outcomes
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development
