Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • State teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Experience in educational settings with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students preferred
  • Strong knowledge of assistive technology and auditory/oral and/or total communication approaches
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) highly desirable
  • Passion for advocacy, differentiation, and supporting whole-child learning
  • Collaborative approach with teachers, families, and therapists

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students needs
  • Develop and implement effective Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt curriculum materials and assessments for accessibility
  • Provide direct and consultative support to classroom staff and families
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school activities
