Key Qualifications:

• Hold valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or are eligible for certification
• Experience teaching or supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
• Strong understanding of various communication modalities, such as American Sign Language (ASL), auditory-oral, or total communication
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Skilled in collaborating effectively with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment

Responsibilities:

• Deliver targeted instruction and accommodations for students with hearing loss, both individually and in groups
• Develop lesson plans tailored to meet students unique needs and learning goals
• Assess student progress and adapt teaching strategies to maximize achievement
• Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers to facilitate inclusion
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational plans
• Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring their needs are met across learning environments
• Provide guidance and resources to families to support their childs learning and communication skills
