This opportunity seeks experienced teachers specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support K-12 students. Both full-time and part-time positions are available on a contract basis, with assignments running through May 29, 2026. The role is located in Denton, TX, and offers a chance to make a meaningful impact by providing specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet diverse learning needs
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies such as sign language to enhance student engagement
- Collaborate with parents, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and general education teachers to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings as required
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or equivalent credentials
- Proven experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a K-12 setting
- Strong knowledge of communication methods including American Sign Language (ASL)
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to individual student needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
