Job Description

This opportunity seeks experienced teachers specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support K-12 students. Both full-time and part-time positions are available on a contract basis, with assignments running through May 29, 2026. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction to K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and meet diverse learning needs
  • Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies such as sign language to enhance student engagement
  • Collaborate with parents, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and general education teachers to support student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly
  • Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings as required

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education or equivalent credentials
  • Proven experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a K-12 setting
  • Strong knowledge of communication methods including American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt to individual student needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
