Qualifications:

  • Active Georgia Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license issued through GaPSC
  • Experience working with K-12 students in diverse classroom settings
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Familiarity with assistive technology, visual and auditory learning strategies, and inclusive teaching practices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels (K-12)
  • Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students unique communication needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed
  • Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters language development and academic growth
  • Advocate for students needs during team meetings and when developing IEPs
