Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license issued through GaPSC
- Experience working with K-12 students in diverse classroom settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Familiarity with assistive technology, visual and auditory learning strategies, and inclusive teaching practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across various grade levels (K-12)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to accommodate students unique communication needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting goals and strategies as needed
- Support a positive, inclusive classroom environment that fosters language development and academic growth
- Advocate for students needs during team meetings and when developing IEPs
