A professional opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education within a school setting in Decatur, GA. This contract position seeks a qualified educator with expertise in supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they receive an inclusive, accessible, and effective learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Utilize specialized teaching strategies and communication methods, including sign language and assistive technologies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches as needed.
- Provide training and resources to school personnel related to deaf and hard-of-hearing students needs.
- Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records in compliance with educational standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
