Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (state licensure required or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students diagnosed with varying hearing abilities, utilizing both spoken language and sign language, is strongly preferred
• Proficiency with assistive listening technology and adaptive classroom tools
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and families
• Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and accessible learning environment for all students

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting lessons to meet individualized learning needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure student progress
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate accommodations and modifications for student success
• Support students with social-emotional learning and self-advocacy skills within the school setting
• Maintain consistent communication with families regarding student progress and strategies for continued growth
• Offer consultative services and professional development as needed within the school community
