Job Description
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students across an itinerant districtwide Early Childhood to Transition caseload. This contract position runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, supporting schools primarily located in the Richmond area of San Francisco. As an integral resource, youll provide consultative services onsite, partnering with educators and families to support learner success.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching credential and active CTC required
- Experience in supporting students with hearing differences in school settings
- Skilled at itinerant and consultative service delivery across multiple campuses
- Knowledge of evidence-based strategies for DHH learners from early childhood through transition ages
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration abilities
- Comfortable working independently while communicating with diverse teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Travel onsite to designated campuses to deliver consultative educational support for DHH students
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, support personnel, and families to tailor learning strategies
- Develop and monitor IEPs, assess student progress, and adapt plans as necessary
- Provide professional insight to staff regarding best practices, assistive technology, and accommodations
- Support transition planning for students moving between grades or to post-school environments
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district/state standards
