Make a significant impact supporting students with hearing differences in a dynamic, diverse educational environment. This contract opportunity calls for a passionate educator skilled in working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students to provide consultative services across multiple schools. The position is itinerant, serving students from Early Childhood through Transition ages on-site in various campuses predominantly within San Franciscos Richmond area.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing credential issued by California
- Certification from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Experience serving EC-Transition (Early Childhood through Transition-age youth) within a school setting
- Strong consultative and collaboration skills working with a variety of school teams
- Proficiency developing individualized strategies and accommodations to support student learning and inclusion
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative and direct services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across the district
- Travel to multiple school sites to provide support, resources, and guidance to educational teams and families
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, special educators, therapists, and administrators to ensure appropriate supports and accommodations are in place for each student
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and implementation of individualized educational plans
- Facilitate training and share expertise with staff regarding best practices and tools for students with hearing differences
