Step into a vital educational role serving PreK6th grade students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, positioned on-site at a single campus dedicated to supporting students with hearing differences. Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) teaching license through the Texas Education Agency (TEA) is required.
- Previous experience working within a Texas school or with school-aged children in a related capacity is highly desirable.
- Strong skills in completing educational assessments, interpreting audiograms, and managing Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings (ARDs).
- Effective communication abilities for collaborating with families, support staff, and students.
- Passion for fostering an inclusive, encouraging educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students from PreK to grade 6, adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations of students academic and communication skills.
- Interpret and explain audiograms to inform instructional strategies.
- Participate in ARD meetings, contributing insight and advocating for your students.
- Collaborate closely with support staff across the single campus assignment.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to assessments and student progress.
