Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in the Nashville area! This full-time contract position focuses on delivering expert educational support to K-12 students with hearing loss across a school district equipped with dedicated hubs for DHH services, including a recently expanded middle school option. Assignments will vary, shaped by district needs and student caseloads, and your expertise will help drive consultative services for students across different campuses.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings
  • Understanding of best practices for instructing and supporting students with hearing loss
  • Ability to collaborate with general educators, support staff, and families to foster student success
  • Willingness to obtain TN fingerprinting per district guidelines

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to students with hearing loss in mainstream and specialized settings
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students unique needs
  • Collaborate with IEP teams, including speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and caregivers
  • Provide guidance and resources to school staff in supporting DHH students in inclusive classrooms
  • Travel between campuses as assigned

This is an onsite position based in a welcoming community just outside Nashville, running from August 3, 2026 to May 28, 2027, in alignment with the schools calendar.
