Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience adapting curriculum for students with varying levels of hearing abilities
- Strong knowledge of audiology equipment, communication modalities (ASL, Signed English, Cued Speech), and assistive technology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to assess student needs and develop effective IEPs
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in classroom and/or resource settings
- Modify lesson plans and instructional materials to meet students unique needs and learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to support student progress
- Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and develop measurable goals for each student
- Provide training to staff and students in the use of hearing devices and assistive technologies
- Advocate for student access, accommodations, and inclusion across the educational setting
- Communicate regularly with families to share progress and strategies for success
