Job Description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational community. Two dedicated professionals are needed for on-site roles: one to work with elementary or middle school students and one for high school, focusing on math and core English instruction. Youll collaborate with educators and families to tailor instruction, champion accessibility, and foster an inclusive environment for all learners.

Ideal candidates thrive in a diverse setting, demonstrate strong ASL fluency, and have robust academic backgrounds in deaf education. Your compassion and expertise will empower students to achieve their full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education (DHH) required; Masters degree preferred
  • Active educator certification
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL), with fluency to be evaluated during the interview
  • Experience teaching either at the elementary/middle or high school levelmath, English, or both
  • Ability to collaborate within school teams and adapt instructional strategies
  • References and all certifications/licenses must be presented upon request

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction to DHH students in math and core English
  • Create and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) plans
  • Advocate for accessible resources and accommodations
  • Foster language and literacy development through differentiated teaching
  • Communicate regularly with families and colleagues to support student success

This contract opportunity runs from August 12, 2026, through May 26, 2027, with a consistent weekly schedule of 35 hours. The district aims to review outstanding applicants between mid- and late May, so please have your references and documentation ready to present at the interview.
