Job Description
This full-time, on-site position based in Concord, NC, invites educators skilled in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH) to support a K-12 school environment. The role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and fostering an inclusive classroom for approximately 1012 students during the contract school year (CSY).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Special Education services in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based teaching practices
- Develop, plan, and execute lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs and aligned with the NC Standard Course of Study
- Conduct screenings and evaluations when necessary to assess student progress and needs
- Actively participate in the IEP process, including developing present levels of performance, goals, and service delivery plans
- Monitor student progress regularly and implement strategies to manage classroom behavior effectively
- Maintain thorough documentation including notes, summaries, and IEP records to ensure compliance with Special Education regulations
- Communicate and collaborate with school staff, students, and families to support student success and promote a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) DHH Professional Educators License (active license screenshot required upon submission)
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a K-12 educational setting
- Knowledge of Special Education laws and the ability to implement IEPs effectively
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to working on-site in a full-time capacity (40 hours per week, school-based schedule)
Location: Concord, North Carolina
Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site, School Year Contract
Caseload: Approximately 10-12 students
