Job Description

Located in Concord, NC, this full-time on-site position offers an opportunity to specialize in educating students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a supportive school environment. The role focuses on delivering tailored instruction aligned with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study, fostering both academic growth and inclusive learning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing Special Education services aligned with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) using evidence-based strategies
  • Developing and implementing lesson plans with differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs
  • Conducting screenings and evaluations to assess student progress and inform instruction
  • Actively participating in the IEP process, including setting goals and monitoring services
  • Managing classroom behavior and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment
  • Maintaining thorough documentation such as notes, progress summaries, and IEP records
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with school staff, students, and families to support each students success

Qualifications and experience desired:

  • Valid North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Professional Educators License (a screenshot of the active license is required with application)
  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and familiarity with special education compliance
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop individualized lessons and adapt instruction based on student needs

This role is ideal for an educator committed to making a meaningful impact through specialized instruction and collaboration within a school-based schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. The caseload includes around 10 to 12 students, allowing for focused attention and support.
