Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the upcoming 2026-2027 academic year. Work full-time (37.5 hours weekly) across multiple school buildings near Columbus, GA, where your expertise will make a direct impact on students access and educational success.
This onsite position begins August 3rd, 2026 and runs through May 21st, 2027, with the possibility of pre- and post-planning days. While exact caseloads are still being finalized, versatility and adaptability will be key, as youll deliver specialized instruction and support for students across the district. Excellence in organization will serve you well, as this role requires diligent completion of daily service logs and effective time management.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid GA Educator Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Previous experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs, progress monitoring, and reporting
- Commitment to maintaining thorough documentation and adhering to district requirements
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in various school environments
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, ensuring access to the full curriculum
- Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to facilitate accommodations and modifications
- Maintain up-to-date service records and ensure completion of district-required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and parent communications
