Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a contract role working within a dynamic school district just north of Nashville. This full-time opportunity spans the 2026-2027 academic year, offering diverse placements across DHH hubs for Pre-K through Middle School. Your expertise will support a K-12 caseload with services primarily of a consultative nature, though assignments may vary to meet evolving student needs.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification
- Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in educational settings
- Familiarity with providing both direct instruction and consultative services
- Ability to manage a flexible caseload across multiple grade levels (K-12)
- Commitment to meeting all credentialing and background checks, including TN fingerprints
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across elementary and middle school hubs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement IEPs that address individual student goals
- Serve as an expert resource and consultant for school staff and families regarding auditory access, curriculum modifications, and accommodations
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies for optimal outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of student services and compliance documentation
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training as required
