Job Description

An exciting remote opportunity awaits for a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students throughout an entire school district via VOCO (virtual instruction) for the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position enables you to create meaningful connections and foster learning for students ranging from elementary to high school, all within a flexible and supportive environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Tennessee Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) license required
  • Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a K-12 setting preferred
  • Comfortable providing instruction and support virtually (VOCO)
  • Effective communication skills with students, families, and school staff
  • Ability to adapt and individualize instruction for diverse learning needs and age ranges
  • Previous school experience is valued, with compensation reflecting years of service

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 10-15 Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, from elementary through high school, across the district
  • Utilize virtual platforms to deliver engaging and accessible lessons
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and other service providers to ensure effective inclusion and support
  • Conduct assessments, track student progress, and maintain thorough documentation in accordance with district policies
  • Communicate regularly with families and school teams to support student growth and advocate for individual needs
